The Computer Club of Rossmoor would like to welcome you to its NEW web site. The Computer Club, in conjunction with its partnership with the Acalanes Adult Education Center in Walnut Creek, California, is one of the largest computer clubs in the nation. The officers and board members planned and designed the Computer Club with the goal of helping senior citizens become more computer literate, share information and keep abreast of computer development, by learning the basics about computers.
The Club is made up of computer enthusiasts who band together to learn, share experiences and serve the Rossmoor Community.
On June 3, 2003 the Rossmoor Computer Club traveled to Martinez for a recent Board of Supervisors Meeting to accept from Supervisor Gayle B. Uilkema a special resolution honoring the Club members for their volunteer work in the County.
The tribute included recognition of the Club's many undertakings that benefit the community. The achievements include ongoing computer classes, seminars, and workshops for seniors, and the collection, rehabilitation of donated computers at both the Valley View Rest Home and the Orin Allen Youth Rehabilitation Facility in Byron are but a few of the noteworthy projects.
Supervisor Gayle B. Uilkema said, "Thank you Rossmoor Computer Club members for breaking down the barrier of isolation of our County seniors and helping to educate our teens in the Byron Facility."
